Mauna Kea- Original Mixed Media Painting

A one-of-a-kind piece rooted in my love of stars.  Mauna Kea in Hawaii is known for their views of the nightsky.  You have to brave major elements to experience the stars from here. 

Soft textures that create a sense of wonder and calm all at the same time.

The original was created using repurposed materials-- which is part of my process of giving overlooked things a second stop.  I loved seeing this piece come together and finding the beauty that might have otherwise been missed.  

No two pieces are ever the same.  This piece would be so sweet over a glider in a baby boy's room or over a bookshelf in a playroom.
